The students will be exposed to the fundamentals of preparing foods and be familiar with safety and hygiene issues, the categories of different foods in the food pyramid, and the taste, aesthetics and nutritive value of food used in commercial kitchen. They will also have an understanding for the various food types and how to prepare meals accordingly using standard recipes and ingredients.
